Spain-based edible oils company Aceites Naturales Del Sur (ANDS) is planning to enter the Chinese market, where avocado oil is gaining interest among younger consumers despite limited awareness and availability. Founded in 2009, ANDS specializes in refined oils, including avocado, almond, grapeseed, and apricot kernel. The firm manages the entire production process from sourcing to bottling, with a capacity of 80 metric tonnes annually. After successful exports to China through US distributors, ANDS aims to educate local consumers about the health benefits of avocado oil, which is rich in antioxidants and vitamins and has a high smoke point ideal for cooking. The company plans to collaborate with a native Chinese expert to develop a targeted social media marketing strategy, including live commerce on platforms like Douyin. Additionally, ANDS is working on creating its own brand to sell bottled avocado oil directly to Chinese retailers and consumers.
